Belur and Halebidu

Both Belur and Halebidu are proposed World Heritage sites by UNESCO. Located on the banks of the Yagachi River, these two places are the best manifestations of South Indian architecture. The temples are replete with the scripts of Hindu mythology, having carvings from the Puranas, the Upanishads and various other mythological characters from the Mahabharata and the Ramayana.
