Known as the“Mini Desert in Karnataka”, Talakadu is a place filled with stories and anthologies. It is believed that a curse by a lady known as Allemelamma in the 16th century made Talakadu a desert, with sand on the banks of the river. It is situated on the banks of the river Kaveri, and an ideal weekend getaway. It is famous for various temples, especially the five Shiva temples known to represent the five faces of Lord Shiva.
